sorry for referencing that. the thing about jingles and pop is that they get stuck in your head for years. or i guess we call it vocal stims now. one of my legacy interests after homestuck ended. as a short, all-ages series it doesnt quite fill the hole but damn is it engaging aesthetically and the story is so tight. expect lots of spamton here. im an anticapitalist who wants ads to be abolished and he came at the right time i had just started studying advertising in 2021. hes also just a good character with awesome boss battles. another fun fact... i used to do digital art in ms paint only. i probably arent the only one! i have done deltarune and undertale fanwork since they came out but since chapter 3+4 released with a tumblr sexyman and way more cool intertextual references i really feel in my element working with it.

i like to imagine the characters in more detail, how the lightners would look more realistically and how the darkners would appear to them. i think of an epic fantasy movie of the 90s with creative practical effects. i especially think about the material and reality-bending effects on the cyber world and tv darkners. My fanfic about living in the dark world. Spamton-centric because he loves to immitate lightner behavior anyway. Also exploring Spamton and Tennas relationship as darkners in that hierachy/magical logic. Aaaaall my damn headcanons about this stuff and trying to make it atmospheric as an escapist utopia. this fic is turning out to be very long and i have been inspired to go multimedia. i am also reading and watching technohorror stories for it and still working on my dmc6 fic, so it will not be out soon. and things will probably change when chapter 5 comes out or newc canon dmc content comes out. it is 34 pages right now and i expect 40-50 pages total. Content Warnings: Unreality. once published you can read it [HERE (opens new html page tab)]. inspired by this song. a little traceover of the main sprite and edited assets from the Kid Radd webcomic by Dan Miller . it is one of the first webcomic ever and a sprite comic but it is all original and is one of the influential comics on fourth wall breaking in pseudo video game media. uncomfirmed but likely an influence on deltarune. at least the world of online escaped programs named "cyber world". it has some bigotry for small people and women but is otherwise an okay read still. just an indulgent thing because i couldnt mix them right for an animatic. unfortunately i found out the first song was autogenerated by the author with "ai" yeah pretty shitty yechk even if they edited it some themselves. you can just skip it. honestly the whole mix is pretty unbearable. spamtoncore fr. you can listen to it on google drive here. ADDENDUM!!! you can now find it on my mixtapes site Aux Pas here! where i host with mixcloud. collage also by me. please to look at it closely thanks i saw the designs from diionysan of a swap au between the dark worlds but i imagined them a little different especially how i think tenna would go off the deep end and decided to write on that. i also wanted something that complimented canon more because i was stuck on the fact that it was the same in the au except tenna was given the shadow crystal. you can see their au here: also found the au through marineflames boss music video: tv world lord spamton as a mech was inspired by @DogDirectlys tenna concept: https://x.com/DogDirectly/status/1975705473308676142 canon divergence: tenna looses his antennae and is cut off from the outside world (also in the real world). desperate to not loose connection to his viewers, he escapes to the cyber world. he thinks spamton will be there, but spamton is looking for him in the tv world and gets trapped there in turn. the two of them often had arguments about who should have the attention on screen, so both of them think the other set them up to be trapped in their respective media formats. tenna is hiding in the cyber world as an ad player/library. he has no power without his dark world and is given the shadow crystal by "a friend of the show". he can only play outdated shows but the lightners find this funny and he gets some attention from them for it. they found him when they were working on a school project about tv shows. he has been driven insane by the black shard and stays black so he can reflect the light world as much as possible. after defeating him, he apologises and tells them that they can come to his theatre any time. it is a run-down place with silly videos. he sells popcorn and soda that is out of date. he asks kris to put him on a casette tape and insert it into a door in queens mansion. when they do this. it shoots open and they can enter the outdated 90s internet world in the basement which is an old empty amusement park. everything as tennas face and he traps them in battle there. this is his secret fight. they are strapped to a ride and have to shoot down his face on screens for points. he tells them the tv watches back, and it had seen too much. he wasnt satisfied being a darkner because he couldnt go with them to the beach, or amusement park. after defeat he apologises, and says he missed them and was happy to just go with them to the amusement park as a family this once. he becomes the "entertainers shoes" item. killed: "prop arms". after defeat kris can ask their mom how they got the tv and she might say the popular headcanon that he was a honeymoon gift (meaning he is from the 80s so makes sense to me timeline wise.) spamton is the head of tv world that only shows ads now. only kris turns on the tv to just brainrot and watch ads. toriel watches or the occasional knowledge of domestic products. spamton uses a mech of tenna from the cyber world to perform in shows. nicknamed "mister". it is like tenna but very stiff and doesnt change its smiling expression. he is found out by battat who has been investigating he dissapearance of spamton and weirdness of tenna. it decides to help him. they take turns using the mech and being mike. spamton wears a mike costume too. and he wears it off air. they have mike on screen with "tenna" to distract from him being a fake. and the show is renamed "mister and tenna". but by the time the dark world is created, they are going to get replaced by a new tv that can take the new streaming channels. this means they will get a new boss and have to abandon the tv studio. a little something i came up with one night before going to sleep because i saw someone from reddit have a theory, that spamton is a lightner using spamton as an avatar. which makes sense and i have thought about before when considering what exactly his job is. does he come up with the scams himself? or does he get them from lightners and just advertise them? does he get them directly from lightners or other darkners doing lightner roles? ultimately i think he is just a program with the personality of his advertisements. but if the plot was to be changed au style that he could be a lightner (and also be cute in the way that lightner/darkner slash objectum spamtenna is) it could be something like this. rare finished fanfic AND comic from me. and its ms paint. my first tenna drawings lol no reference and not quite good at all. i think the format for these fanwork collections is that they will get increasingly nonconformative by the bottom of the page. so i was listening to the hatsune miku opera "the end" which is one of my favorite pieces of art of all time. it is one of the very best deconstructions of hatsune miku as a cultural object and expressive tool. anyway, i was listening to the part of the opera where miku attempts a complete partnership with the concept of her commercial presence (or cute japan). the language used about communicative media and relationships around it is very romantically loaded in the opera and making phonecalls between layers of reality is often used. so i was thinking that is alike how people romantisize commercial media nostalgia with spamtenna too. the characters are also similar. hatsune miku is the message of a girl we want to watch, beautiful and emotional. but inspired by "the dissapearance of hatsune miku" she is scared of becoming obscolete. "dying" as it is considered for media forms. her commercial character mascot partner is a bit of a parasite. and very controlling. it is often like a manager and characterized as very cold in contrast to its cuteness. and the real world is a scary, destructive, presence, that she embraces anyway. i think why i like these characters is partly because of this opera. its a contained story with more flat characters so deltarune has the possibility to expand on the concept of anthropomorphized media more. thank you for letting me talk a little about my favorite work. presented in recommended reading order! chapter 2:
he attacks kris by pulling them in with a maelstrom hypnotic pattern on his screen. he wants to enter their soul so they can carry him to the light world. a plan that cant work of course.
chapter 3:
spamton misses tenna and tries to put on other programs but they always turn into ads.
spamton and the mikes dont want to leave. but their workers have already accepted the change and are ready to quit. spamton is going to turn into stone if this happens because he doesnt belong anywhere but tennas studio anymore. after he is defeated by the lightners they promise to keep his programs running. they give him to sans' store where he can play ads and informercials for the customers. the entertainers shoes are in reality his broken antennae and they can be taken to alphys. if she fixes them and they are put in the store too, then the tv can show entertainment again, and sans watches it by the counter. (this is the best end the very best one)
