See what just a small fraction of my research has yielded?
Here are the fanfictions I have been working on. I have never done fanfiction before but I was inspired to learn it because of dmc. Because of the very rudimentary novels that are fun to read regardless of their poor wording in translation and silly plots (especially the dmc2 novel). Well then anyone can do it, even if my english is sux. dmc aligns with my interests and introduces way more characters and plot than is possible to resolve by the often rushed games so its ripe to fill in the gaps going off the events that are implied to happen.
Here are the stories I have been working on, listed chronologically from the lastest. They follow the same headcanons/are canon to each other and are suggested to read if you have read/played the according canon material:

Probably my most ambitious project. My concept for a DMC6 where I get into a plot, themes, gameplay, and setting I would like to see. Nero hears about Dante and Vergil in hell from some demons and plans to rescue them so they can attend his wedding with Kyrie.

A short thing about a headcanon that I have about how Dante came to own the Devil May Cry locale, where I wanted to center the characters Patty and Trish in Dante's absence.

I Know The End
Takes place during the timeskip in VoV: DMC5 (2018)
V had way too much potential for a one-off character and it was a shame they had to scrap making him a woman, so I'm giving that idea some space in this story. Then I had the engaging idea that Vergil in this different state meets Nero's mother again. So I also conceptualize her as a character in this, entirely canon-compliant, only an AU insofar V is female and identifies as such which admittedly doesnt have much relevance to the story.

The Las Vegas Story: Walking With the Beast
Takes place between DMC2 and DMC4 (2011)
Dante without a doubt has the biggest character change between 2 and 4 because different directors ended up being placed side by side in the game chronology, but from a Watsonian perspective Dante comes off as extremely manic so just what the hell happened there. Lady and Trish too are very confident fun and sexy in dmc4 so based on their new fashion too thats where I had the idea that they must have had a great trip to Vegas. So that's what this is.

My suggestion for how Dante(Tony) became involved with the criminal underworld and supernatural affairs and dropped out of the foster system as a teenager.
